In October of last year we learned that the novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter would be adapted into a major motion picture and earlier this month we learned from Trent Reznor himself that he may film a cameo role for the film. Today we learn that principal filming production on the movie has begun in New Orleans, LA as the first photos from the set have made their way to the Internets.
Part historical fiction, part zombie thriller, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter will surely offer an interesting aesthetic blend on screen. I’d very much like to see what director Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) and his crew have in store — for now this pair of set photos will have to do. If nothing else, we see Dominic Cooper in costume as Henry Sturgess and what may be Benjamin Walker as Abraham Lincoln. No sign of vampires yet, but vampires do not show up in photographs, so… Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anthony Mackie, Alan Tudyk, Jimmi Simpson, and Robin McLeavy also star in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, scheduled for release on June 22, 2012.
And away we go. I’ve been really anxious for news about this film, especially since we learned that Reznor is attached to the project. I had assumed that the movie adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (which is being made by Natalie Portman) would be the first film to make it out of the production gate but it appears that Abraham Lincoln has taken the early lead. I’m curious to see more photos from the set. Wee!!
UPDATE: Pink reader Roxy has informed me that Reznor has posted an update about this film that clarifies once and for all that he will NOT be involved with Vampire Hunter in any way:
Don’t believe everything you read. As it turns out, I WON’T be working on (acting or scoring) ALVH after all. There’s no juicy story here, it’s just that when the news mysteriously leaked out about my involvement I hadn’t made up my mind completely, because various aspects of the project were changing. I felt the need to say something earlier this week because my inbox was filling up with speculation, and at that moment I thought I would be doing it. Confused yet? Apparently I am.
Bottom line, I wish them the best with the film and I’m sure it will still be great.
Also, in all the excitement of the last note I forgot to mention we’re still fully engaged with the Year Zero mini-series, writing away.
While this is a bummer, I am very happy to know that things are moving forward on the Year Zero TV series. I’m still excited for Vampire Hunter but, yeah, it would’ve been much cooler if Reznor was involved.
Lily Allen and her fiancée Sam Cooper were hoping to have a secret wedding this Summer but one of their invited wedding guests (well, formerly invited) decided to spill the deets of their planned nuptials and share the wedding invite with the world (actually, it was only a Save the Date card). As a result, Lily Allen is really peeved her plans have been revealed … and she is tweeting all about it.
It’s confirmed: Lily Allen will wed Sam Cooper on June 11 in Gloucestershire, England. But the pop star isn’t happy about how the news broke. Someone who was invited to the nuptials apparently sent the save-the-date card to the British newspapers, leaving Allen, 25, fuming. “Oh and whoever leaked my wedding invite to the press, you’re a dick and your[sic] not invited anymore, have some respect and stay at home,” she wrote Wednesday on Twitter. The card itself amusingly shows Cooper and Allen’s faces crudely Photoshopped onto the bodies of a frumpy couple riding a tractor. Cooper, an upmarket decorator and owner of a building company, reportedly popped the question to Allen over the Christmas holidays, following a rough year for the couple, who in October lost a baby they were expecting. Allen has been deep in wedding planning of late, reportedly meeting with Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld in Paris this month to talk about her dress.
Aww, poor Lily. I mean, I guess it’s to be expected that this sort of news won’t be kept quiet for long. If Lily really wanted to keep her wedding date quiet, she should’ve never send out cards so early and rather informed her closest, most trusted friends much closer to the planned wedding date. Still, this Save the Date card is really cute. I hope she doesn’t let this info leak ruin her big day. Here’s hoping Lily and Sam‘s wedding day goes off without a hitch and they live happily ever after despite this miniscule hiccup ;)

Way to keep everyone on the same page, Will!
Men in Black III has been experiencing all types of delays because of screenplay issues…and now another bizarre issue has come up with regards to the script.
While other writers were working on the script, Will Smith brought in Fresh Prince of Bel-Air writer Mike Soccio to "punch up his part," but NONE of the other writers even knew about him.
Here's what Sony had to say about this mystery writer in a statement:
"[Soccio] was hired for minor on-set punch-up work during our initial production period while [screenplay writer] Etan [Cohen] was not on location. If any writer was unaware of his involvement, we regret that.”
No word on any writers taking any kind of extreme offense to Soccio's involvement, but that's definitely strange.
Maybe they can flashy-thing the writers, so nobody remembers any of this!
…But then they'd have to flashy-thing us too…we take it back! We like our memory as is. Ha!
Do U think it was shady for them to bring on a writer without telling anybody? Or do U think it's not a big deal?

If you haven't heard, the jewelry store in Venice that Lindsay Lohan allegedly stole a necklace from put the surveillance tape from that fateful day online so that people could pay $2.99 a pop to watch.
Oh yeah, they thought they would be raking in the $$$ from this, but it turns out, Lindsay hasn't been as profitable for them as they planned.
Sources reveal that owners of Kamofie & Company "got a raw deal" and haven't seen any of the profits from the sale of this tape yet. The source adds that the owners feel like they've been played and are currently having their contracts reviewed by lawyers to see why that is.
Let's be frank - you're not getting scammed. It's just that no one is buying what you are selling!!! This is OLD news and BORING news if you can't actually see Lindsay stealing anything. What, you think people are going to piss their money away on this?!

Last weekend we learned that Prince Harry is embarking on a trek to the North Pole this week with the Walking with the Wounded organization in an effort to raise funds and awareness for British military personnel injured in the line of duty. Today we get to see photos and video from day one of Prince Harry‘s trek North. At one point, Harry decided to go for an icy dip in the water … it’s video you have to see to believe.
Prince Harry grinned today as he learned he will experience temperatures as low as -40C when he joins a group of injured servicemen for the first five days of a trip to the North Pole. The 26-year-old royal attended a briefing in Longyearbyen, Norway, after he was greeted by the team from the Walking With The Wounded charity, and heard about the grueling training regime he will endure for the next three days. He is expected to play a full part in the final preparations for the expedition, including sleeping out on the ice and dragging a 100kg sled. On Friday the prince will fly out to the start point and will be with his teammates for the first five days of the grueling walk, which is expected to take around four weeks and will cover up to 200 miles. Asked if he was ready for the challenge, Harry said: ‘Not as ready as these guys are, but I’m just here to give them as much support as possible. I haven’t had as much time to train.’ ‘But today, to their huge amusement, they’re going to see me on a pair of, whatever they’re called, skis, this afternoon. So it should be entertaining for all of us.’ Accompanying them will be expedition leader Inge Solheim, guide Henry Cookson and charity founders Edward Parker and Simon Daglish. Mr Solheim said: ‘Harry’s training has been going very well – he has the right attitude. I’m sure Harry has healthy concerns about the dangers, as he should. You have no idea how different the Pole is from everything else on the planet. The old Norwegian explorers called it the Devil’s dancefloor. It is unpredictable. Deadly. ‘If you’re not paying attention, it will just slap you. You can walk ten miles in one day, pitch your tent overnight, and the ice will have drifted you back 11 miles in the opposite direction’ … Mr Solheim told the team: ‘It’s going to be around minus 25C today, so it’s quite mild and good, nothing like we’re going to get in the polar ocean. Hopefully out there we’ll get minus 35C to minus 40C with good stable high pressure.’ Harry winced as he heard the extreme temperatures.
Wincing or not, Prince Harry really seemed to get into the spirit of what they are trying to accomplish with Walking with the Wounded. Here is INSANE video of Harry taking an icy dip in the freezing cold weather:
