On Aug. 31, Jodie Sweetin delivered a healthy, 7 lb., 4 oz. … mini-me.
“She definitely looks like me,” says Sweetin of 3-month-old daughter Beatrix Carlin, a.k.a. Bea.
“She came out with blonde, fuzzy hair, and when I look at my own baby pictures it’s like she is me!”
Adds her proud father, Sweetin’s boyfriend Morty Coyle, “She must have my insides because all the outside looks like Jodie.”
Baby Bea was named for her dad’s favorite band, the Beatles, as well as the late comedian George Carlin, and the decision was easy for her mom and dad.
“I wanted something feminine, but really unique,” says Sweetin, 28. “Something kind of funky, a little romantic and old-fashioned.”
But the naming process would have been far more difficult if the couple had a boy.
“I’d been vetoed on my main boy name,” says Coyle with a laugh. Which was? “Cosmo,” says Sweetin with mock disgust. “I refused. I was like, I really hope we’re not getting a boy, because Cosmo is not happening!”
Baby Bea joins older sister Zoie Laurelmae, 2½, (her father is Sweetin’s ex-husband, Cody Herpin) and the two are already getting along well — even if Zoie has more important things on her plate than a little sister.
“The first time Zoie met Bea, she looked at her and went, ‘Beatwix? She was in mommy’s belly?’ We said, ‘Yes,’ and then it was, ‘Look at my Thomas the Train balloon!’” the former Full House star recalls. “She’s been really sweet with her, but it’s also like, ‘Okay, a baby. What’s in this for me?’”
Though they’re now the picture of a happy family, Sweetin and Coyle, a singer-songwriter who’s in a band, All Day Sucker, and deejays on the side, dealt with some serious post-delivery drama after Bea arrived via planned c-section. Within hours of the birth, Sweetin began bleeding internally and was rushed into emergency surgery.
Her doctor found two liters of blood in her abdomen, and determined that a subtle disorder called disseminated intravascular coagulation — which causes irregular clotting and continued bleeding — may be to blame, so Sweetin will undergo further testing.
“It was terrifying,” says the mom of two. “I was in the ICU for two and a half days.” “We’re very fortunate that it turned out positive,” adds Coyle, 41. “The doctor told me to call her mother right away. She almost died in surgery.”
Luckily, after several transfusions, Sweetin pulled through. Now, she says, she’s even more grateful to have Coyle — whom she met through a mutual friend in March 2009 — in her life.
During her ordeal, “he never left my side” and now with two small children (she shares 50-50 custody with Herpin), “he’s an incredibly hands-on Dad. He puts on the Baby Bjorn and takes Bea to Trader Joe’s. We take turns and he’s just so wonderful and loving.”
That applies to Zoie as well, who calls Coyle ‘Papa.’ “I love her as if she’s my own daughter,” explains Coyle. “But I am very respectful of what she has with her father. I like being Papa to her.”
“Zoie adores him — we have a really nice little family here. I feel settled now,” says Sweetin, who will celebrate two years of sobriety this December. “I think about all that I have to lose — the trust of my family and friends, my relationship, my kids. It’s just not worth it.”

Without question, Kingston James McGregor — the eldest child of Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale — is one of THE most stylish kids in all of Hollywood. Kingston is very regularly seen in very fashion forward outfits, rockin’ some pretty stylish accoutrements. Over the weekend, Kingston showed off his edgy new hair’do as well as his freshly painted and very colorful nails … behold:

He’s got two of the most famous rock stars in the world as mother and father. So it should come as no surprise that Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s son Kingston has inherited some of his parents’ edgy style. Kingston showed off a directional mohawk-style half shaved and bleached do and multi-coloured painted fingernails yesterday out shopping with his No Doubt singer mother. Four-and-a-half year old Kingston had been treated to a multi-coloured mani-pedi on Saturday at a Beverly Hills salon and left grinning from ear to ear. Gwen, 41, also got a touch up to her black nail polish and chatted to her son as the treatments were done. Kingston is becoming quite the young fashion icon, regularly rocking some very trendy outfits. On Friday he accompanied Gwen as she ran some errands in Studio City, California, wearing black skinny jeans with black bovver boots and a retro looking printed jacket. The day before, as the family headed to Gwen’s parents house in Los Feliz to celebrate Thanksgiving, Kingston was spotted wearing some cool combat trousers, like the ones his mother always wears, with a funky red and black jumper and matching trainers. After the nail salon Kingston and Gwen joined his brother Zuma, two, and father Gavin Rossdale for a family outing to Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! There’s A Party In My City event at the Nokia L.A. Live in Downtown Los Angeles.
You may recall that this wasn’t Kingston‘s first visit to the nail salon … back in September, we saw photos of Kingston gettin’ his nails painted on a visit to the nail salon with his mom — which I LOVE! I’m so impressed that Gwen and Gavin are so eager to support their young sons desire to express himself. It is a very good sign that Kingston is able to express who he is in his dress. Brangelina allows the same expression of their young children, which I also applaud. It’s so cool when kids get to be kids. Kingston is a very lucky little man to have such loving and supportive parents.

Stop the presses, y’all. Actors Anne Hathaway and James Franco have just been signed to host the 83rd annual Academy Awards show on February 27, 2011. It was rumored that the pair were being courted for the gig and they must’ve both said yes as quickly as they could cuz now it’s official … Anne and James will be hosting the Oscars!

James Franco and Anne Hathaway have been tabbed to co-host the Feb. 27 Academy Awards. Both have films currently in release: Franco stars in “127 Hours” and Hathaway co-stars with Jake Gyllenhaal in “Love and Other Drugs.” Neither have hosted before, but Hathaway participated in a song-and-dance routine when Hugh Jackman hosted in 2009. Move comes a year after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences had Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin front the show. The Oscars will be telecast by ABC from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
While this will not be the first time that actors have co-hosted the Oscars I believe this is the first time such young actors have been tapped for the job. I LOVED Anne‘s song-and-dance bit with host Hugh Jackman during the 2009 Oscars (so much so that I would LOVE to have Hugh Jackman host the Oscars every year) so I think she will make a great host. Paired with Franco, well, it’ll be very interesting to see how it all plays out. The Academy Awards play much better to the older Hollywood set so I’m curious to see if the young duo will cater to the older, traditional Oscar watcher or if they’ll youngen up the awards show. I would’ve never guessed that either of these two would ever get to host the Academy Awards … let’s just hope they don’t eff it all up.
So … what do y’all think?

This sounds like a fantastic idea, but we hope that they keep the two series separate!
Kevin Williamson, the creator of The Vampire Diaries, has reportedly been tapped by the CW to develop a "companion" series to the show, which will focus on a group of paranormal researchers!
According to insiders, the show is still in early stages of development, but the network is shooting for it to air next season, and as of now, no cross-overs are planned between the two series.
Excellent! We think this has a lot of potential - especially with Williamson on board!
Next step is for humans we hope!
